The MicroCable assembly features a small, compact size providing flexible though ruggedized product with the improved optical performance of MicroCable structure. The standard 2mm patch lead style tails are ruggedized to secure the optical fiber in the non-protected environments outside the patch panel or Optical Distribution Frames (ODFs).

Loopbacks for MT interconnect applications are driven by both network systems-solutions providers and the optical-device community that design and make transceivers or active components. Loopbacks are used primarily as a means to test optical links in networks or devices by “looping back” the connections from the TX (transmit) pairs to the RX (receive) pairs. By doing this, a complete optical link is formed, allowing the optical performance evaluation of a discrete component or a complete link in a network path covering one or more interfaces.
These high performance devices are designed to give accurate attenuation over a wide range of wavelengths. The plug type configuration allows them to be used directly on the end of a patch cord, which in turn can insert directly into an adapter. Available in FC, SC and LC (short form factor) connector styles with UPC or APC finish and ST and MU connector styles with UPC finish, attenuators providing ultra-low return loss and are available from 0 dB to 30 dB in 1 dB increments.
